Provider standards
What “Preferred provider” means.
Preferred providers have completed our documented checks and pay for placement at the top of relevant directory results.
Three checks before placement
- Business identity
- We match the company name and business location to records or documentation.
- Applicable credentials
- We review the trade credentials relevant to the services and jurisdictions being represented. A general contractor registration alone is not treated as proof of fire alarm or sprinkler authorization.
- Insurance documentation
- We review current insurance documentation supplied by the company. Clients should confirm that coverage applies to their project.
A dated review, with a defined scope
A Preferred profile shows the completed checks, review date, and review expiry. Reviewing documents and public records does not evaluate every job, establish service availability, or guarantee workmanship. Confirm current requirements and suitability before hiring.
How results are ordered
Eligible Preferred providers appear first. Remaining location-search results default to approximate proximity, using ZIP or city areas. Distance is not driving distance and does not establish a company's service area. You can choose another sort order within each group.
Factual credentials remain independent
Any listing can receive corrections and eligible credential checks without buying a plan. Paying alone does not earn Preferred status or a credential badge. Founding listings may retain earlier direct-contact terms; that exception does not grant Preferred status.
